"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."

What to Expect
Consultation: An initial consult allows us to determine if we are a good fit for each other - if you feel comfortable with me and if I feel I have the skill-base and expertise to help you. We will discuss what your concerns are and what you are hoping to gain from therapy and then we will go from there. If we both feel we are a good fit, we will set up an initial intake session.
Sessions: Sessions run 50 minutes. Depending on the goals and severity of the issues, we may expect to meet weekly for as few as 4 weeks or as many as 4 months or even longer. But we will work collaboratively to decide if you feel you've met your goals for therapy and are ready to end sessions.
Session Flow: The first phase of therapy is often spent getting to know each other, getting to know the client's core reasons for being in therapy, and how they experience the world. In the first few sessions, we will set goals. The second phase of therapy is where we lean into the work - reflection, pattern insight, pattern disruption, accountability, skill learning, etc. Therapy is, unfortunately, not a magic pill. But with dedication, we can unearth some meaningful change and direction for clients. The last phase of therapy is when we are able to reflect on changes made and goals reached and consider what termination of therapy would look like (however, some people continue therapy for ongoing support, especially as other issues come up).
Fees: My fees start at $100 per session and I currently do private pay (no insurance).
Supervision: I am currently under the clinical supervision of Dr. Kade Sharp, PhD, LICSW, CMHS, CST, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, license # LW61009151 - Kade can be contacted at 509-582-7599 or hello@kadesharp.com if you have any questions or concerns about the services rendered.
